Seattle ignores excuses and comes up with victory vs Pats

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has a suspected punctured lung and is likely to miss Sunday's game against San Francisco, the National Football League website reported on Monday.

CARDINALS HANG ON: Chandler Catanzaro kicked a 34-yard field goal as time expired and the Arizona Cardinals escaped with a 23-20 victory over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday in Glendale, Ariz. People also flocked to the movies this weekend. I just got the wind knocked out of me.

"There was a lot of, 'Thanks for throwing it.' That kind of stuff, all that kind of garbage", Carroll said. Just down for about a minute or two, it's a little tough to breath, but once it comes back, you're good. But if we could show kids how we want them to hit and play this game, and college kids, that's how you do it.

Then, on New England's ensuing series, the defense denied the Patriots fourth straight times inside the 2. But he finished the game, and talked to reporters afterward. "Both of us played with the same philosophy in mind".

"It's one of the great challenges that a team and a defense gets and we've had some bouts down there the last few weeks and our guys just came through and hung in there and fought for every inch", Carroll said.

The Seahawks made Brady and the Patriots appear mortal Sunday night.

Was it really best for Bill Belichick to have Brady run the ball more times (twice) from inside the 2 than Blount (once) on the final sequence?

"I'm sore, but I will be ready to go next week", he said. "I'm going to go out there and do my job, and do what they tell me to do". The rookie third-round pick made his first start instead of Christine Michael and seized the opportunity.

"We wanted to see", Carroll said, "if we could put it out of reach". "It was the most aggressive that we've been, the most confident coming off the ball".

Acquired in the offseason from the Chicago Bears was tight end Martellus Bennett, who has had a revival with New England this season.
