"'Was that Godzilla?" Video of massive alligator goes viral

Last year, YouTube user Alex Figueroa shared video of an alligator chomping on a smaller gator at the park.

In a video taken Sunday afternoon at the Circle B Bar Reserve in Lakeland, the very big reptile appears out of some brush and slowly walks across a patch of grass on the reserve's Marsh Rabbit Run. "Nature at its best".

The Lakeland Police Department shared a video on its Facebook page of the gator strolling along at Circle B Bar Reserve, an area of protected lands in Polk near Lakeland.

The sighting became a hit, with people flocking to the reserve to try and get a glimpse of the huge reptile. The largest alligator captured on record in the state was a little more than 14 feet long, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission. After all, we recently reported on how pizza rat was a lie. It doesn't help that the video appears to have been shot on a potato, like all those phony UFO videos you find on YouTube.

Joiner told WKMG, the video is real.

And we thought Australia had all the freaky animals.
