Army foils infiltration bid in J&K's Baramulla, four terrorists killed

The encounter comes a day after Army foiled Border Action Team (BAT) strike along the LoC in Uri sector, killing two militants and recovering war like stores.

On Saturday, in a separate incident, the Indian army claimed ti have killed six militants who had infiltrated across the border from Pakistan in the Himalayan region.

The slain terrorists are of foreign origin, however, the army refused to identify the infiltrators as the search operation is underway.

The Army said that this was the second BAT attack in J&K in this month. Simultaneously, a BAT action was launched on a patrol operating in between the two posts.

The infiltration bid comes even as the Army has started what it calls "punitive fire assaults" on the Pakistani posts across the Line of Control.

Based on a specific input, an ambush was laid by army troops about 10 km south of Rampur around 7:30 pm on Friday.

Pakistan strongly condemning killing of 12 Kashmiri youth in Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK), Saturday called upon the United Nations and global community to stop bloodshed in the held valley.

"Thousands of men and women in India have started a movement against the country; India is trying to frame these Kashmiri men and women as terrorists", said Aziz.

After firing exchanges, the two intruders were killed by the Indian Army. As per estimates provided by the Multi Agency Centre, 19 terrorists have sneaked into Kashmir till April this year.

The infiltration attempts in the region have increased recently with the onset of summer. Two groups of these terrorists managed to infiltrate in winter when the mountain passes were covered with snow.
