Titans sit out 2nd round, then trade up for wide receiver

The Titans obtained the pick as part of the trade that sent last year's No. 1 overall selection to the Los Angeles Rams. Fast-forward to 2017. The Titans own two first-round picks and it's been reported that they are fielding calls from teams trying to move into the No. 5 spot. Team officials said earlier this week that Kevin Dodd, a second-round pick last season, still is feeling pain from the foot that bothered him much of his rookie season and required another surgery. "(The additions) will create competition within our team, and eventually that will make us better and that is all you can really ask for". Jackson becomes the first defensive player to get taken by the Titans in the first round since Derrick Morgan, the 16th overall pick in 2010.

"It is going to be great", Jackson said.

The metrics guru Jim Cobern believes that Levin has starter to Pro Bowl potential at guard, and I expect him to get a real chance to play there this season.

The Titans tripled their win total in their first season under Robinson, who was a guest Wednesday on "Press Row" on Chattanooga's ESPN 105.1 FM.

He was an all-around performer at USC who helped out at receiver and was arguably the nation's most explosive kick returner. (I like) just his swagger. And in a draft where none of the quarterbacks looked like locks to be picked in the first round, three were taken in the first 12 picks.

Kiper had Tennessee selecting North Carolina receiver Mack Hollins 83rd overall and Virginia Tech tight end Bucky Hodges at No. 100. Taylor said he was almost speechless at being drafted by the team an hour away from where he played at Western Kentucky. "But again I think we're in a good position at five and 18 to get two good football players if we stay there". He averaged 16 yards a catch and scored 27 receiving touchdowns. Adding Davis to the offense gives quarterback Marcus Mariota a weapon on the outside to compliment to the running game. So it is going to be great to battle against each other.

If you felt like you didn't hear Corey Davis' name often during the pre-draft process, that's because he spent most of it fighting through an ankle injury. "If they need me to catch, I'm going to do that to the best of my ability", said Davis.

The Bengals made an unexpected move with the ninth pick in the National Football League draft, taking speedy John Ross from Washington to try to improve a passing game that struggled last season.

Obviously the Titans medical staff has signed off on Davis being healthy or he wouldn't rate a No. 5 pick.

Throughout the "draft season" I felt like the Titans needed to land an elite playmaker on defense.

Now comes this report from ESPN's Adam Schefter indicating that the Tennessee Titans are seriously considering a trade down from the fifth pick.

"This draft stacks up pretty well for us. 'I always wanted to be a hometown hero, ' he says". So to get a head start there it's just ideal. He went from being the Nicholls State linebackers coach in 2001 to an area scout with the New England Patriots the next year.

"We take a business approach to it, but it is an exciting time for our fans", he said. Now it's evolved to a red carpet and fancy suits and shoes.

Corey, the second-youngest of seven children in his family, had just moved into the home of his friend and quarterback, Ryan Graham.
