Bruno Mars, nominated for 5 honours, to open BET Awards

Those who don't want to watch the award show on television have several options to choose from when it comes to viewing this year's ceremony.

The Ghetto Kids dance group from Uganda are in California, Los Angeles United States to represent their country and the East Africa at large at the BET Awards, later today.

And aside from Bruno, some of music's biggest names are set to take the stage and get the crowd pumped up, including A$AP Rocky, Big Sean, Chris Brown, DJ Khaled, El Debarge, French Montana, Future, Gucci Mane, Kamasi Washington, Lil Wayne, Mary J. Blige, Maxwell, Migos, New Edition, Post Malone, Roman Gianarthur, Swae Lee, Tamar Braxton, SZA, Trey Songz and Xscape.

At last year's edition of the BET Awards, Beyonce won Video of the Year for "Formation", the first track from her hit album "Lemonade".

Who run the world, especially during award season?

Beyoncé is followed by Mars, who has five nominations.

Singer and humanitarian Yvonne Chaka Chaka and social activist Ilwad Elman would also awarded with International Global Good Star and Power Awards.

These awards will be handed at the Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles and air live on the BET network with "SNL" star Leslie Jones hosting.

Presenters include Jamie Foxx, Queen Latifah, Trevor Noah, Jada Pinkett Smith, Issa Rae and Yara Shahidi. A backstage live stream will take place on Twitter at around 8:30 pm ET. The show will also stream live on and will be made available on YouTube.

The group is set to be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award and BET is sure to have something in store to delight fans.
