U2 to perform at Arrowhead Stadium

The newly announced dates include a performance at 7:30 p.m. September 10 in Lucas Oil Stadium at Indianapolis.

In January, U2 announced it will play in American cities and Europe to celebrate the album's 30th anniversary. The tour date was posted, but was later taken down before the official announcement Tuesday morning. There will be an exclusive priority presale for U2 subscribers at from 10 a.m. Thursday through 5 p.m. Saturday.

The show will mark the 50 concert or music festival in Arrowhead Stadium history and will be the 10 concert date for the stadium since 2011.

It looked like the closest Indianapolis fans would get to U2 would be the band's upcoming shows in Louisville or Chicago.

June 7 - Pittsburgh, Penn. - Lincoln Financial Field June 20 - Washington, D.C. - FedEx Field June 23 - Toronto, Ont. - Rogers Centre June 25 - Boston, Mass. - Gillette Stadium June 28-29 - East Rutherford, N.J.

The band will be play the iconic album, which contains hits such as Where the Streets Have No Name, in its entirety each night. But there are now four in 2017 including U2, Metallica at Busch Stadium June 4, Guns N' Roses at the Dome at America's Center on July 27 and Billy Joel at Busch Stadium on September 21.

An anniversary edition of the Joshua Tree was released on June 2, 2017 as it includes a 11 track album along with a live recording of the Joshua Tree Tour from 1987. "I think that really does capture the spirit of the band at that time".
