Sevilla midfielder to sign for Leicester City

Leicester are set to announce their second signing of the summer after Sevilla revealed an agreement had been reached for the transfer of midfielder Vicente Iborra. The Spanish side that admitted that a deal was agreed between the two clubs and that now 29-year-old Iborra will make the move to the Midlands club, where he will see his wages doubled in size.

Sevilla added that the move for the Spaniard is subject to a medical and personal terms being agreed. Having joined Sevilla in 2013 from Levante, he has made 172 appearances and scored 30 goals.

Sevilla have confirmed the deal is close to being completed and will allow the player who spent four years at the Roman Sanchez Pizjuan stadium to say goodbye to the fans.

Sevilla captain Vicente Iborra has drawn plenty of attention from the Premier League, according to reports from the Spanish outlet Marca.

Following their incredible march to the Premier League title in 2015/2016, the Foxes battled relegation for much of last season.

Iborra is also composed in possession, as demonstrated by the fact that he was successful with 82% of the passes that he attempted in La Liga last season.

A Sevilla club statement said: "Sevilla FC and Leicester City FC have reached a preliminary agreement for the transfer of Vicente Iborra to the British club pending the player's medical and his signature on the contract".

While Iborra could arrive in England this week Riyad Mahrez is expected to leave the club.
