Wonder Woman 2 confirmed by makers. Will Gal Gadot reprise her role?

Director Patty Jenkins, whose return for the sequel has not been officially announced, has been pitching her ideas for the followup in the weeks since "Wonder Woman's" opening.

As of July 16, "Wonder Woman" grossed $380.7 million, according to Hollywood Reporter.

But that was the extent of the "Wonder Woman II" talk at the fan convention. Meanwhile, the new trailer for Justice League clearly capitalizes on Diana Prince's success: Wonder Woman shows up in about every other shot. Finally, young women around the world have a strong, powerful, and complex woman with super powers to look up to, with a successful, big budget superhero movie under her belt.

While no details were announced, Warner Bros. confirmed to rapturous applause at San Diego Comic-Con that Wonder Woman II is in the pipeline as part of the studio's expansive DC-based moves.

To the surprise of no one, Wonder Woman is getting sequelized.

Ever since she lasso'd her way into our hearts earlier this summer, we've been eagerly awaiting any official news about Wonder Woman's next cinematic chapter. "I made 'Wonder Woman.' Now I want to make 'Wonder Woman 2.' It's a handsome story to tell, an important time to tell it and with people that I love". Turns out, Wonder Woman can best the boys.

We haven't seen the last of Gal Gadot. It's something that female moviegoers have known for decades, but it took a Wonder Woman's lasso of truth to convince the industry. Her stand alone movie redeemed her value and now we're going to see a sequel.
