Ezekiel Elliott plays, will miss upcoming practices to ready appeal

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, who denied the request, has chosen a former NFL management executive, Harold Henderson, to oversee the hearing at league headquarters in NY. Elliott will miss practices on Monday and Tuesday to get ready for his appeal in NY with arbitrator Harold Henderson.

"He's got his representatives that work with him on that", Jones said.

Still, it is unusual that after suspending running back Ezekiel Elliott six games after he was neither arrested nor charged for a crime, former National Football League executive Harold Henderson ruled his side will not be given that opportunity.

Owner and general manager Jerry Jones has withheld comment regarding Elliott's suspension, however, sources indicate he is upset. If the suspension is upheld or even reduced, Elliott would be moved to the reserve/suspended list, and the Cowboys would gain a roster spot.

"Harold is a really great friend of mine", Jones told the Star-Telegram.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones continued to decline to comment on the six-game suspension of star running back Ezekiel Elliott for violating the personal conduct policy and his appeal hearing, set for Tuesday in NY. "He was at my ($16-million Hall of Fame) party and so you weren't at that party unless you were a good friend ..."

Thompson is the alleged victim in Elliott's domestic violence case. "But he is a friend, and of course that's the way it would be".

"I do think Zeke playing in the game a year ago against Seattle was good for him and good for our team", Garrett said. He's very competent, but the main thing is he's a guy that I admire a lot. In that contest, Elliott took 14 snaps and finished with 48 rushing yards on seven carries. While we can anticipate the continued development of quarterback Dak Prescott and properly credit the Cowboys' superb offensive line, it shouldn't be taken for granted that the Cowboys will successfully navigate their first six games if Elliott's appeal fails and he does not get an injunction from the court that would allow him to play.
