LaVar Ball and His Basketball Family Star in Facebook Reality-TV Show

LaVar Ball and His Basketball Family Star in Facebook Reality-TV Show

LaVar Ball and his three basketball sons continue to be media darlings. The first two episodes, which is a docu-series about LaVar Ball, his basketball whiz-kid sons, and his wife, will premiere August 31 on the social platform. Naturally it shows the training that goes into becoming a star, and the family's interactions - but also highlights Lonzo's adaptation to the National Basketball Association and his awful game to start his Lakers' career in the Summer League. After that, new series episodes will be available on Sundays starting on September 10. "We have a big community of fans on Facebook, so we're excited our series is going to be on Watch".

But for Ball and his family's new reality show, Ball in the Family, people are bound to see a different side of the proud baller dad as well.

The Balls are following in the footsteps of reality-show Goliath, "Keeping Up with the Kardashians", which is produced by the same company. "And who better to help us tell our story than Bunim/Murray Productions".

In the case of "Ball in the Family", Bunim/Murray said that Facebook is funding production costs, but neither company would disclose specifics. Behind the scenes, he takes care of his wife, Tina, who is going through rehab following a stroke.

Mr. Ball's spirited and even theatrical promotion of Lonzo, who was selected second in the National Basketball Association draft this summer, has been the subject of much media attention.

Following the premiere of the first two episodes Thursday, new episodes will be available on Sundays, beginning September 10.

Facebook funded the production of the show, and it has paid for other original series as well.
