McMaster dodges question about whether he can work with Bannon

Anthony Scaramucci hinted on Sunday that Steve Bannon is on his way out of the White House.

He did not elaborate on what "that sort of nonsense" was, either, on the back of Breitbart News declaring the Unite the Right rally a "dereliction of American values" and "a disgusting and unwelcome throwback to segregationist ideas and rhetoric at a time when patriotic conservatism is gaining ground" on Saturday night.

Channelling Hillary Clinton's "deplorables" moment - attempting to force link between racialism and Breitbart News - Scaramucci continued: "Steve Bannon is a great speechwriter".

Stephanopoulos noticed Scaramucci was being hard on Bannon and asked if he thought the president was going to remove the former Breitbart head.

SCARAMUCCI: Well, I think the president knows what he's going to do with Steve Bannon.

It added to the attacks the president has received from the right since his statement.

The former White House staffer's comments come at the same time Trump's daughter Ivanka took to social media to condemn the racist violence that saw one man driver a vehicle into a crowd of people.

He's referring to Trump's comment following a brutal attack that left one dead and nearly 20 injured at a white supremacist rally Saturday.

In late July, the White House announced that Scaramucci resigned from his position after just 10 days in office to allow newly appointed communications director to have "a clean slate and the ability to build his own team".

Asked if he believed "Bannonbart" had an influence on President Trump's thinking, Scaramucci replied: "I would say no".

"I am ready to work with anybody to help advance the president's agenda and advance the security, prosperity of the American people", McMaster responded.

"The President said very strongly in his statement yesterday that he condemns all forms of violence, bigotry and hatred and of course that includes white Supremacists, KKK, neo-Nazi and all extremist groups".

The former communications director also addressed the expletive-laden tirade in which he referred to then-Chief of Staff Reince Priebus as a "f**king paranoid schizophrenic, a paranoiac", and hit out at Steve Bannon, stating "I'm not Steve Bannon".

Scaramucci complained that what Lizza did was "very deceitful" while also taking responsibility.

Scaramucci said he spoke with the president "this week" and that the two "had a very candid conversation".

Asked if he believed he deserved to be fire, he said, "obviously I wished they would've given me a bar of soap and told me to wash my mouth out in the bathroom and move on".
