Needs to discipline its own cadres: Arun Jaitley

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley attended tribute meeting of slain RSS worker Rajesh Edavakode at Kalabash auditorium on Sunday. I am here to express my solidarity on behalf of our party.

"It is the responsibility of the state to ensure that the perpetrators of these crimes are brought to book and a deterrent punishment is slapped on them", he said.

AK Ramya, whose husband, Sreejan Babu is battling for his life after he was attacked by RSS workers, has written an open letter to Jaitley, asking if he would also visit them, The News Minute reported.

The state had been witnessing a cycle of violence involving BJP-RSS and CPM workers with the capital district rocked by incidents of attacks on houses of rival partymen. State BJP leaders, including president Kummanam Rajasekharan, accompanied the Union minister. It was the most brutal murder and we will not forget this heinous act.

While speaking on the occasion, CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said Jaitley's visit was politically motivated and he came to execute the RSS leadership's agenda.

"I had, since this morning, the opportunity of meeting a large number of victims of violence which has been going on in the state for the last several months".

Jaitley said that instead, it would only increase the determination of the RSS workers to work harder against those indulging in violence.

Sinha alleged the ruling party in Kerala is creating violence, killing RSS people and are presenting itself as victims.

BJP members recently raised the issue of political violence in the state in Parliament alleging that "Kerala has become a killing field".

BJP MPs had visited the Union home minister Rajnath Singh seeking the Centre's intervention.

While taking cognizance over the political violence in the state, the Governor of Kerala, P Sathasivam summoned Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and State Police Chief Loknath Behera to Raj Bhavan on July 30, 2017 and sought a complete explanation over the rising political violence and lynching cases in the state.

Rajesh pointed out that Jaitley should find time to visit the bereaved families of the soldiers who killed in wars. The CPI-M alleged that the RSS-BJP combine was spreading a false propaganda on the issue of political violence.
