The CW's 'Arrowverse' 2017 Crossover Date Revealed, Will Span Two Nights

Though Supergirl hasn't really been a part of the fray for its first two seasons (it was technically a part of the Invasion event previous year, but served more as a lead-in than anything), it will finally be joining the rest of the hero shows in full fledged crossover glory. Thus, with time quickly creeping up for another sublime small screen superhero association that will, again, team the heroes of Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and Legends Of Tomorrow, the network has unveiled the details for their 2017 crossover event. The special CW/DC programming block will continue on Tuesday with "The Flash" and "Legends of Tomorrow" at their regularly scheduled times, 8 p.m. EDT and 9 p.m. EDT, respectively.

The CW pulled the same four-series event stunt past year, though it spread the shows out across four nights.

"We felt in this particular case we had "Flash" and "Legends" paired. Next year, we might go back to four nights". Pedowitz says this season's story will be different: "It will be a full, four-episode crossover". The two-night, four-series crossover will begin Monday, November 27 on Supergirl.

The CW have successfully turned the concept of very big DC Comics crossover events into an annual thing. "I think they want to get everyone involved in every show". Yes, the Girl of Steel herself got to participate, but we didn't get to see our other favorite heroes venturing to National City. "I'm looking forward to where Oliver goes and where that character arc now that, spoiler alert, potentially one of the people survive on the island, become a father, and recognize that he is the Green Arrow". Topping last year's, that's a high bar, if for no other reason than what do you do that's bigger than aliens? "We have no plans to develop any DC shows this season", said Pedowitz.

Playing to its superpowered strengths, Deadline reports that The CW announced at TCA today that instead of last year's successful four-night crossover week, this year's event will consist of two two-hour nights.

The Arrowverse premieres the week of October 9th on The CW.
