Jamie Murray and Martina Hingis win US Open mixed doubles title

The Scottish-Swiss partnership defeated Michael Venus and Chan Hao-ching 6-1 4-6 10-8 in a tight battle to keep their winning run going after also claiming the Wimbledon title.

Murray and Hingis had already won Wimbledon in July while Saturday's triumph took their record as a team to a ideal 10-0.

Twenty years after winning the US Open singles title, Hingis earned her 24th Grand Slam title, including a fifth at Flushing Meadows.

Martina Hingis, of Switzerland, left, returns a shot as doubles partner Chan Yung-Jan, of Taiwan, looks on during the doubles semifinals of the U.S. Open tennis tournament against Sania Mirza, of India, and Peng Shuai, of China, Friday, Sept. 8, 2017, in NY. "She's such a great player, a huge champion of the game".

It was tight all the way in the first to 10 points with Murray and Hingis prevailing to add the US Open title to the Wimbledon title they won in July.

Martina Hingis and Yung-Jan Chan embrace after their win against Lucie Hradecka and Katerina Siniakova.

He said: "Obviously a lot of money has been pumped into the grand slams over the last few years, and people are making a lot more money than they used to, but a majority of that is going into the singles game".

Says Keys: "She can buy me drinks, all of the drinks". "It's been a lot of fun for me and a great opportunity for me to compete with Martina", he said. "I think that should be supported with some of these prize money increases".

"He texted me and said well done", he told reporters.

Both are playing the best tennis of their careers after having surgery. I think this is really the key: we've been there, we've won titles and we know how it's done.
