Amber Alert issued for missing 3-year-old NC girl

The search continues on day three for missing North Carolina 3-year-old Mariah Woods.

Local authorities and the Federal Bureau of Investigation were trying to figure out whether the child in the images is the missing girl, but the Onslow County Sheriff's Office confirmed around 9:45 a.m. that the pictures are not of Mariah Woods and an unknown woman.

She has brown hair and blue eyes.

Woods last saw her daughter Sunday night when she tucked her into bed at their Jacksonville, N.C., home.

Police have spoken to the couple and searched their auto, but have found no sign of the missing girl, the Daily News said.

"Please, bring her back", a tearful Kristy Woods said at a news conference Monday of her young daughter, Mariah. Goes by Mariah. She has walking difficulties, so if anybody sees her.

"She's a sweet youngster, however she is modest with outsiders, so she wouldn't simply run with a more odd", Edwards said.

"'I'll do anything that I can, whatever you want", said Woods.

Family members said there was no sign of forced entry or anything wrong with Mariah's room.

The family also said Mariah would not have left with a stranger.

The Sheriff's Office checked with Mariah's biological father but said he does not have the girl.

The Onslow County Sheriff's Department and local fire departments combed the surrounding woods hoping to find any trace of Mariah.

Authorities in North Carolina are searching for a 3-year-old girl who disappeared after being put to bed Sunday night.

"Mariah's mother describes her as their "little angel", with a goofy, outgoing and talkative personality".
