The announcement is the second apparent snag to hit the USA lingerie maker's A-list underwear extravaganza set, following reports that three Russians and one Ukrainian model had failed to obtain Chinese visas.

According to a report by Page Six, Katy has allegedly been banned from China over a controversial dress she wore in Taiwan back in 2015.

She gave no reason for the reversal. Justin Bieber was also a name suggested, after collaborating with Victoria's Secret Angels on a music video, but he was also banned from China earlier this year for "bad behaviour". "Love my VS family, and will be with all my girls in spirit!" she wrote on Thursday.

Liu Wen, Taylor Hill, and Candice Swanepoel pose for a cute photo while making an appearance at the Victoria's Secret store at Lippo Plaza on Saturday (November 18) in Shanghai, China.

"The news reports I've been reading from the USA here in Shanghai regarding this year's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show are not an accurate reflection of what I'm seeing and experiencing on site", he toldPeople.

From what most publications and commenters on social media say, Hadid has also been denied a visa to the country because of the racist video of hers that had surfaced in September.

When is the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2017 and how can you watch it?

"Can't wait to tune in with everyone to see the lovely show I know it will be, and already can't wait for next year! x", Hadid continued without giving a reason for her absence.

"Suddenly I have better feelings about VS". Hadid didn't share any other details but she could be among one of the few models who weren't able to obtain Chinese Visas to make the trip, including Julia Belyakova, Kate Grigorieva and Irina Sharipova from Russian Federation, as well as Dasha Khlystun from Ukraine. Representatives from the models' agencies and Victoria's Secret declined to comment on the situation or did not respond INSIDER's requests for comment. Model Gigi Hadid confirmed her absence on Twitter.

It was not immediately clear whether Hadid had been denied a visa.

"I can only tell you that we welcome foreign citizens to come to China, to engage in normal trade, tourism and cultural activities".

Hadid joins a list of foreigners who wore out their China welcome. Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and Maroon 5 are on that list. He is still with the club.
