I MARRIED MY MOM: Misty Spann, 26, pleads guilty to incest

AN OKLAHOMA woman who tied the knot with her mum has pleaded guilty to committing incest.

Misty Spann, 26, will spend 10 years on probation for illegally marrying her mother, 44-year-old Patricia Spann, who is identified as Patricia Clayton on their marriage license application, filed in March 2016, online records show.

The two were charged in September 2016 after a DHS child welfare worker learned of the relationship and reported it to Duncan police.

Two years of Misty's deferred sentence of 10 years must be under the supervision of the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, the outlet reports.

Patricia Ann lost custody of Misty as well as two sons when they were children, Fox News reported.

Previously, Patricia Spann had married her biological son in 2008, but never reported it.

Patricia has pleaded not guilty to incest, and will appear in court for trial at a later date.

She says she only consented to getting married after her mother convinced her it was legally OK, saying she consulted three attorneys.

This was not the first marriage for Patricia. The marriage was later annulled in 2010 after the son opted out of the relation, terming it "incestuous".

"I think she's worthless she put my sister into this". Her probation is the type known as a deferred sentence.

Court records show the marriage was annulled last month at the request of Misty Spann on the grounds of fraud and illegality.

"We got told we actually had a real mom, so we wanted to know what she was about, the first thing she showed us she was about was trying to get in my brother's trousers", Cody added.

Patricia told the Oklahoma Department of Human Services that she assumed the marriage wasn't breaking any laws "because her name was no longer listed on Misty's birth certificate".

"For you to want to put your own daughter through this, what kind of person are you?" When she and Misty were reunited, Patricia allegedly said they "hit it off". The Spann children were raised by their paternal grandmother.
