Hoover police and firefighters responded to the shopping center after 11 p.m. on at least one fight in a store on the mall's second floor.

Police say the man who fired the gun allegedly did so after trying to place the gun in its holster while sitting in a vehicle with another man, whom he reportedly knew.

Shoppers getting an early start on Black Friday deals had their Thanksgiving trek to the Riverchase Galleria cut short when fights broke out in the mall.

Hoover police Lt. Keith Czeskleba say officers also received calls of gunshots fired outside the mall near the Macy's parking lot, but responding officers believe it was someone shooting off fireworks.

A video posted to Twitter shows security guards or police handcuffing shoppers as a merchandise table was flipped and punches were thrown near the store. No one, however, was taken to the hospital.

The mall was shut down at 11:20 p.m. despite its original set closing time of midnight, according to the AL.com report.

There's now no information on any injuries or arrest from the fights.

Police officers are still interviewing witnesses as of 1:30 a.m. Friday.

About a dozen police officers rushed to stop a fight late Wednesday night at the mall's common area.
