'Three people' stabbed in 'terrifying' Macy's shopping centre attack

Bloomington Police say the incident happened Sunday evening at the Macy's department store.

When he left the fitting room to show the clothes to the other people in his party, Abdirahaman entered the fitting room to steal his belongings, Potts said.

Upon his arrest, Abdirahaman was charged with two counts of first-degree assault. When the owner of the property confronted him, the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim.

Hearing the victim's screams, his family rushed to his aid, but Abdirahaman slashed a second person before they could wrest the knife from him.

Other Twitter reports said the first level of the mall was locked down, the reports said. He got me!'. I knew something was not right.

Bloomington Police Chief Jeff Potts called the incident a result of an alleged "interrupted theft", according to PEOPLE.

Most of the shops closed at 7 p.m. Sunday; the Hard Rock Cafe and some restaurants on the fourth level were open until 9 p.m. Police say shoppers weren't in any danger.

Both victims had sustained non-life threatening injuries and were taken to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, police said and added the suspect may have received superficial wounds.
