Woman discovers husband's affair mid-air, forces flight to divert and land

Chennai: A Iranian woman who was travelling with her husband discovered his extramarital affairs mid-air which forced the Qatar Airways to make an emergency landing at Chennai airport.

The woman found out about her husband's affair after checking his phone while he was asleep.


She had blown into a rage after unlocking her husband's phone by pressing his thumb against the screen as he slept. In an freaky incident, a woman got into a heated altercation with her husband on board a Doha-Bali Qatar Airways flight as per reports by The Indian Express. "The plane went ahead to Bali leaving them in India", an official said. "Seeing situation getting out of hand, Qatar Airways crew members made a decision to offload the family in Chennai". When the airline crew and co-passengers tried to pacify her, they had to face her wrath as well.

On November 5, at about 10 am, Qatar Airways flight QR-962 (Doha-Bali) was diverted to Chennai.

Local Chennai paper the New Indian Express, meanwhile, reported that airport director G Chandramouli claimed the woman was drunk and said the family were not allowed to board a subsequent flight until she had sobered up.

"We have been doing flights between Turkey and Doha for 13 years". The couple along with their child was offloaded and were kept in a detention centre as they did not have Indian visas.

"The family spent the day at Chennai airport and was sent to Kuala Lumpur by a Batik Air flight".

Qatar Airways offered no comment in the report, citing respect for passenger privacy in individual cases.
