Additionally, Lucy Hale will return to host the 2nd annual Central Time Zone countdown celebration from New Orleans, where multi-platinum selling band Imagine Dragons is slated to perform from the Allstate® Fan Fest, and WALK THE MOON will take the stage leading up to the midnight countdown and stunning fleur-de-lis drop near Jackson Square.

ABC announced Friday that Carey will sing during "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" after her infamous performance at the 2016 event.

Mariah Carey's last New Year's Eve performance in Times Square was disastrous, but she'll be back to give it another go on "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2018".

Well, it looks like Carey and New Year's Rockin' Eve producers have kissed and made up - and they're looking to put last years debacle far behind them and redeem themselves this upcoming year. The show is marking its 46 anniversary, and Seacrest has hosted from Times Square for the past 12 years.

Producers of the popular year-end program have confirmed that Carey will ring in 2018 with a celebratory performance.

She half-heartedly mimed her way through her hit "Emotions", in what was meant to be the entertainment climax for the throngs waiting hours in the cold in Times Square. During their time working together, they have accomplished great things, including, most recently, Mariah Carey's new music and motion picture projects for this upcoming holiday season.

Carey, famed for her sweeping five-octave vocal range, was one of the best-selling artists of the 1990s. "I commend you for doing this and not letting last years issue defeat you and get the best of you, can't wait to see you slay this performance!"

The news comes as Carey has rescheduled her planned February 2018 tour to Australia, delaying her visit.

Carey also teased her return to the NYE broadcast on Twitter, calling it "take two".
