National Football League suspends Thomas Davis for illegal hit on Packers WR Davante Adams

National Football League suspends Thomas Davis for illegal hit on Packers WR Davante Adams

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams took to Twitter on Monday, December 18th to address the blind side hit he received during the game against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

Adams suffered a concussion Sunday from the helmet-to-helmet hit that wasn't near the play.

Adams took a blow to the helmet by linebacker Thomas Davis of the Panthers.

Davis plans to appeal the suspension, according to ESPN and Yahoo Sports. Adams was able to walk off the field on his own.

"Somebody please explain to me what I wasnt trying to hurt him means when we nowhere near the play and u lead with ya head and ear hole a defensive player", Adams tweeted.

The concussion sustained by Adams was his second of the season and third of his National Football League career.

He may be genuinely sorry about what he did, but that won't save linebacker Thomas Davis from a big fine and a suspension. "Your actions yesterday warrant an escalation of discipline, not only because they were flagrant but also because of your status as a repeat offender".

"Definitely not", Wilks said. We put a lot of emphasis on trying to score on defense.

Davis will be eligible to return to the Panthers' active roster on January 1, following the team's December 31 game against the Atlanta Falcons.
