Trump Admin Bans CDC From Using Words Like 'Science-Based,' 'Diversity'

NEW YORK, NY, 12/16/2017-The National Coalition Against Censorship (NCAC) today condemned an effort by officials of the Trump administration to ban the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) from using seven words in its budget communications: vulnerable, entitlement, diversity, transgender, fetus, evidence-based and science-based.

In an astonishing move, authorities at the CDC were told in a Thursday meeting they were not to utilize certain words, an approach examiner revealed to The Washington Post. But CDC officials, the analyst told the Post, were not always given replacement phrases.

The Trump Administration has reportedly prohibited the Centers For Disease Control for using words like "fetus" and "diversity" in its budget paperwork!

However, those charged with penning official documents about the Zika virus' effect on developing fetuses are going to have a harder time coming up "acceptable" ways of saying, well, "fetus". "HHS will continue to use the best scientific evidence available to improve the health of all Americans".

"Forbidding scientists and researchers from using medically accurate terminology in order to push an extreme, ideological agenda is more "dystopia" than "United States of America, '" Long said in a statement".

And the Trump administration isn't messing around. This edict doesn't just mean a change in vocabulary. Especially troubling to Halpern was that top officials had suggested that instead of putting primary emphasis on science, staff should write that "the CDC bases its recommendations on science in consideration with community standards and wishes".

Following the news of the banned words, Twitter was flooded with remarks from individuals anxious about a ban on the expressions science-based and confirm based, while others featured feelings of trepidation over the words transgender and assorted variety being banned - with a board individual from the World Professional Association for Transgender Health portraying the move as "very stunning". "Effectively tackling public health challenges means being honest and open about risks and who faces these risks".
