Chargers set to play in London in 2018

Premier League side Tottenham's new stadium will stage one of three NFL games to be played on consecutive weeks in London next season, the NFL said Thursday. According to the Tribune, NFL rules state teams in temporary home stadiums are required to play global games.

Next season's slate across the pond includes matchups between the Seahawks and Raiders, Eagles and Jaguars, and finally, the Titans and Chargers. Last year, the Mexico City game between the Raiders and Patriots was announced February 1. After 2018, the stadium will host two National Football League games per season.

The NFL's International Series rolls on in 2018 with another series of games taking place in London.

The NFL is set to release their 2018 global London schedule but leaks have already hit the internet. Jaguars, Oct. 21 or Oct. 28, Wembley Stadium Titans vs.

Heading into 2018, five teams have not played in the International Series: Carolina, Green Bay, Philadelphia, Seattle and Tennessee.

San Francisco likely wouldn't give up a home game for an worldwide contest given the league's tendency to take home games from teams with stadium situations in flux.

"Since we last visited London in 2008, the NFL's popularity has continued to grow in the United Kingdom", A.G. Spanos, the Chargers' president of business operations, said in a statement.

Eagles-Jaguars and Titans-Chargers will be played at Wembley Stadium. The full schedule will be released in the spring. Three games will be played at the venue in a future year to make up for it.

NFL UK are set to announce ticketing details on January 18.

It has not been confirmed which game will be played on Week 7 and which on Week 8. Those interested in attending any of the games can go to www.ticketmaster.com/nfl for information.
