Wenger provides update on Aubameyang and responds to Giroud's Chelsea link

Arsene Wenger further added talking about the League cup and the finals against Manchester City in Wembley on the 25th of February, "It is unfinished business yes, because we didn't win, but we are again at Wembley and many times we were there, but we are in the final again and we can take our fans there".

Before Giroud's name cropped up, Chelsea had also been linked with moves for Andy Carroll and Peter Crouch, although neither seem to have materialised.

Arsenal let Alexis Sanchez join Manchester United earlier this month but only because Wenger felt he was getting a good deal by signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan in return.

Giroud has scored 105 goals in 252 games for Arsenal since joining the club back in 2012 but the 31-year-old striker has been heavily linked with a move away from the Emirates in recent weeks. Now it looks like the Aubameyang deal hinges on Giroud, either in a swap deal or, if that doesn't work out, a move to another side for the cash that will allow Wenger to seal his striker move. At the moment we stay where we are.

"I can not tell you more". If anything else happens, at the moment I would say I don't know. It is far from close.

He said: "I want Olivier to stay".

"If nobody comes in, nobody goes out, maybe one or two young players out on loan".

According to Sky Sports' Guillem Balague, the clubs remain at loggerheads on the valuation of the player.

"We have nothing to announce today".

The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Blues are weighing up an attempt to try and persuade the France worldwide to leave Arsenal and join their bitter London rivals. I am perfectly happy with the players I have.
