GW Bush on immigrants: 'We ought to say thank you'

Bush believes that "there is quite clear evidence that the Russians interfered" in the 2016 U.S. elections. He was speaking at a conference in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.

Bush also said that "it is problematic that a foreign nation is involved in our elections. Our democracy is only as good as people trust the results", he later added.

At a summit in Abu Dhabi, Bush made comments that put him at odds with the current administration, though he never mentioned Trump directly.

The White House didn't immediately respond to Bush's statements.

"He can't think, 'How can we both win?' He only thinks, 'How do I win, you lose?'" Bush said.

"He's resentful", Bush said of Putin. Therefore, much of his moves are to regain Soviet hegemony ...

Bush also stressed the need to back North Atlantic Treaty Organisation and other alliances the US has with the world. "Putin is a brilliant tactician who has the capacity to detect weakness and exploit it".

US intelligence agencies agreed in 2016 that Moscow was responsible for meddling in the election - prompting multiple investigations into President Donald Trump's campaign over potential collusion with Russian agents.

Bush criticized President Donald Trump's immigration policies during an appearance in Abu Dhabi on Thursday. "They've got to get it fixed".

"There are people willing to do jobs that Americans won't do", he said. "We must secure our electoral infrastructure and protect our electoral system from subversion".

Milken reached an agreement with the Securities and Exchange Commission of the United States (SEC) that included a lifelong disqualification of the sector and a fine of 200 million dollars. Forbes magazine estimates Milken, 71, is now worth some $3.6 billion.
