Hazard: Champions League games hindering Chelsea

Eden Hazard feels it was always going to prove hard for Chelsea to mount a successful Premier League title defence on their return to Europe.

The two sides will lock horns in the round of 16, although the Blues have hit a rough patch lately in the Premier League.

Managing that schedule could, however, prove tricky, with Hazard conceding that Chelsea found the going easier last season as they were free of European commitments.

Everton forward Wayne Rooney has claimed that Spurs and Arsenal will miss out on a top-four finish in the Premier League this season - contending that Chelsea, Man Utd and Liverpool will seal the spots below Man City.

While sitting fourth in the Premier League and having qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League may be most clubs' dreams, its nearly been a season of nightmares for Chelsea.

And back-to-back league defeats against Bournemouth and Watford - following the Carabao Cup semi-final lost against Arsenal - have further increased speculation that he will not last until the end of the season.

"That's why we love football. I'm pretty sure we can beat them if we play together". This year we have less time to be ready for the games. "That's why football is special", the midfielder added.

"From the start of my experience with Chelsea they try to stay behind me in every game and they continue to do this and I am happy and proud for this. You never know what's going to happen, especially in England".
