Google Maps turned into Mario Kart for Mario Day

Good bye for a week to the random Google Maps lady and her accent and say hello to Super Mario for directions.

While Google Maps may be the first time Mario Kart has officially appeared on mobile platforms, it certainly won't be the last.

In the meantime, Google Maps and Mario will be here all week in celebration of Mario Kart, with the plumber fist-pumping his way through traffic.

This Mario Day, if you manage to take a break from touring Google Maps with Mario, you'll find that Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is also in on the festivities with a Mario crossover event that is already underway.

This isn't the first time that Nintendo and Google have teamed up like this.
