What Cornwall's weather has in store over Easter

What Cornwall's weather has in store over Easter

Thursday will see a three-way split, with showery rain pushing in from south-west England, rain across the far north east of Scotland falling as snow over the hills, and a large amount of fine weather in between.

The Met Office says that there is a small chance of travel delays on roads with some stranded vehicles and passengers. Across the weekened, temperatures in parts of the south could just about reach double figures while some parts of Scotland will struggle to get above 5C.

Rain will become increasingly heavy in south-west and south-east England on Friday night, especially in Cornwall, Devon, Kent and London.

A further yellow warning for heavy snow has been issued for southern Scotland between 12.15am and 11.45pm on Easter Monday.

Mr Rich added: "If you do have travel plans on Easter Monday, there is the risk of some snow, disruption is possible but there is a lot to play for between now and then".

The Easter weekend looks mainly dry at this time with near normal temperatures in the upper 50s and lower 60s. Minimum temperature 1 °C.

An area of low pressure is expected to bring a spell of rain which will move northeastwards across the country on Monday. High temperatures will fall into the 30s and 40s for most.

Saturday, the high will be near 57 with partly sunny skies and a southwest wind of 11 to 15 miles per hour, becoming north in the afternoon, according to the weather service.

Sunday night, the low will be around 31, according to the weather service. Showers are likely across most of the country and these could be quite wintry with the possibility of heavy snow in places as they collide with colder air over central and northern England. The snow remained on the ground until early April. The mountains will likely receive several inches on new snow.
