California Gov. agrees to deploy National Guard troops, but with a twist

Because of the $700 & $716 Billion Dollars gotten to rebuild our Military, many jobs are created and our Military is again rich. Building a great Border Wall, with drugs (poison) and enemy combatants pouring into our Country, is all about National Defense.

Lt. Gen. Kenneth F. McKenzie, Jr., the director of the Pentagon's Joint Staff, said the military's preference was for the troops to be armed for self-protection, as National Guard units used along the border have been in the past.

Jerry Brown says his state will accept federal funding to deploy National Guard troops to the Mexican border - with lots of strings attached.

"But let's be crystal clear on the scope of this mission".

A few troops were spotted on Monday along the Mexico-United States border in Roma. And the California National Guard won't be enforcing federal laws.

Until Wednesday, California was the only border state that hadn't responded to Trump's request.

Under the federal law Trump invoked in his proclamation calling for National Guard troops, governors who send troops retain command and control over their state's Guard members and the USA government picks up the cost. "Issues of border security require the partnership of the federal government and our state and local allies to be successful".

Seeking refuge from persecution and violence in search of a peaceful life "is not a crime", the bishops added.

Other border states are also deploying National Guard troops. Trump wants up to 4,000 troops sent to the border to combat illegal immigration and drug trafficking.

The federal government must agree to the terms before the troops would be deployed.

In a statement, DHS spokeswoman Katie Waldman said Secretary Nielsen "is pleased to have the support of all four border governors to help secure our southwest border".

On Saturday, five planners from the National Guard arrived in the Laredo border patrol sector, where they heard requests and operational input from Burwell and his staff.

And the governor insisted in his letter that Trump's public pronouncements on border threats were misguided - pointing to statistics that show the number of detained immigrants in California is at its lowest point in almost 50 years.

"President Trump: If you wish to reach agreements with Mexico, we stand ready", Pena Nieto said April 5 in a national address.

In fiscal year 2017, about 304,000 individuals were apprehended along the U.S. -Mexico border, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection data.
