Quizzed by FBI, Emelianenko wins MMA bout

Emelianenko took on Frank Mir in the card's headliner, in what was also a quarter final bout for Bellator's ongoing, grand prix.

Emelianenko's USA manager Jerry Millen confirmed the Federal Bureau of Investigation had sought out his fighter before his appearance at Bellator 198.

'Again, the Federal Bureau of Investigation did come to the hotel, they found us, knocked on the door'.

"Hundred per cent, kind of surprised", Millen added. Michael Cohen, a fixture in the Trump camp long known as his "fixer" and former Affliction COO, is now the subject of an FBI investigation.

Emelianenko dominated MMA's heavyweight division from 2000-2010. Two weeks ago, the Federal Bureau of Investigation raided Cohen's NY offices, hotel and home, seeking information about a nondisclosure agreement he brokered with porn star Stormy Daniels days before the 2016 election.

Fedor Emelianenko moves on to face Chael Sonnen in the semi-final of the heavyweight grand prix later this year.

Mir too was swiftly back upright and then the two stars threw caution to the wind by throwing heavy leather, with Mir again landing, but leaving his chin unprotected in the process, which led to Fedor catching him with a left hook that sent him slumping to his hands and knees.

In the main card opener, Dillon Danis, a friend of Conor McGregor, made his professional MMA debut and made quick work of Kyle Walker, locking in an unusual toe hold and submitting him in just under two minutes.
