YouTube Employees Report Shooter At California Headquarters

WJBF's sister station KRON4 is hearing reports of an active shooter at YouTube's headquarters in San Bruno.

Several media reports have indicated the suspected shooter is female. Investigators say that she likely died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Employees who evacuated the YouTube office and nearby buildings huddled under trees in parking lots.

One victim was found with an apparent gunshot wound in front of the building. Four other people were taken to area hospitals for treatment, and at least one is in critical condition.

Three people were injured, according to Brent Andrew, a spokesperson at San Francisco General Hospital.

The San Francisco Chronicle described the victims as two women, ages 32 and 27, and a 36-year-old man.

Officers rushed to the San Bruno offices after receiving a string of 911 calls about an active shooter around 12:45 p.m.

San Bruno police asked people to "please stay out of the area".

Employees are exiting the building with their hands up and are being frisked by police.

San Bruno City Manager Connie Jackson told NBC Bay Area that there is no immediate danger to the public.

Google, the parent company of YouTube, said on Twitter it is coordinating with authorities and will post additional information as it becomes available. "The fire alarm went off so we started to evacuate and then people (started) running saying there was a shooter".

The San Francisco Field Division of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) said it was responding to the scene.

The White House says President Donald Trump has been briefed on a shooting at YouTube headquarters in Northern California and that officials are monitoring it.

"My stomach sinks with yet another active shooter alert", the Democrat tweeted.
