Pokemon Go Fest And Safari Zone Events Return This Summer

This new event will be held in Lincoln Park, set up with a 1.8-mile walking course that'll be littered with "exclusive" activities for trainers of all ages.

Pokemon GO may be a successful game, but sadly that didn't translate into a successful event when Niantic hosted the Pokemon GO Fest past year.

The event is set to last from July 14, 2018, to July 15, 2018. There isn't much other information on what to expect from this Pokemon Go Fest in particular other than its location and the fact that there will be some sort of "activities", though.

Pokemon Go Fest won't just be based in Chicago - similar events will be held in Dortmund, Germany and Yokosuka, Japan on other dates. At the moment, however, details are pretty sparse, with Niantic having only announced three events in three separate cities for the moment.

The debut of Pokemon Go Fest a year ago at Grant Park ended up being a debacle that led to organizers paying a $1.575 million settlement to unhappy attendees. "It will take place in Lincoln Park and will feature in-game activities in the park and throughout the city as well as connected gameplay events around the world". Single-day tickets will cost US$20, and they will go on sale on the event website beginning on May 11. Pokemon Go officially announced a new Safari ZOne event in Dortmund, Germany. The first, in Westfalenpark in Dortmund, will be a special Safari Zone event. Niantic has also said that it will be releasing more details about each of the events - and most especially the Yokosuka event - over the coming weeks. Unlike the Chicago event, Dortmund's will be free.
