White House: Giuliani adds value to Trump team

Giuliani gave a series of televised interviews last week, in which he made unexpected admissions about Trump's knowledge and his previous comments on the Stormy Daniels saga. If the two teams are unable to come to an agreement and Trump is subpoenaed for an interview, Giuliani told CBS that he will fight the subpoena.

Giuliani told Reid that he and the president's legal team continue to be in communication with the special counsel, but that he wants to have a better sense of the facts before engaging in formal negotiations about a possible interview.

West Wing aides were blindsided by Giuliani's TV appearances last week, and many senior advisers and members of the president's legal team have been cut out of the decision-making process. He said: "How can I ever be confident of that?"

Hannity asked Giuliani, who claimed the Daniels' payout did not violate campaign laws, if the payment was not a problem because "they funneled it through the law firm?" Press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said she first learned that Trump reimbursed Cohen during Giuliani's interview.

"Now, because of Rudy, we all know the president did not pay Michael Cohen to pay Daniels - besides he did, however from a normal authorized fund which did not exist until it does", the rise up comic joked.

"We got Kim Jong Un impressed enough to be releasing three prisoners today", Giuliani said. "I think he's very comfortable now that someone is doing that for him".

He also said that Trump is still hopeful that he and special counsel Robert Mueller can agree to a face-to-face meeting.

"Trump has grown irritated by Giuliani's performances and the headaches he has caused as contradictory statements between the two flash across the chyrons on his screen", CNN reported. He also suggested the October 2016 settlement had been made because Trump was in the stretch run of his presidential campaign.

Giuliani released a statement Friday saying there was "no campaign violation" because the payment was not made for a campaign goal but to protect Trump's family.
