Dani Carvajal returns to Spain lineup against Iran

Iran vs Spain live streaming: Iran stand second behind Portugal in Group B and they are all set to take on mighty Spain in the last fixture of Wednesday, June 20 at the Kazan Arena with their hopes high to consolidate the last 16 berth.

Cristiano Ronaldo headed home to claim a 1-0 win for Portugal over Morocco and later Spain found the back of the net to beat Iran 1-0, as the two European football heavyweights continued their dogged rivalry with a share of points to be tied at the top of their group on Wednesday (NZT Thursday).

Spain tied 3-3 with Portugal on Friday in their first global match under newly-minted head coach Hierro, who took the job just two days before the World Cup after Julen Lopetegui was sacked for announcing he would lead Real Madrid next season, reports Efe.

Kick-off is 7pm Nigerian time.

Spain will face Morroco in their final group stage game on Monday, June 25 while Iran will face Portugal on the same day.

Iran is going into the game against Spain with a win against Morocco.

Champions in 2010 and among the favourites this year, Spain's World Cup ambitions were kept in check, nearly single-handedly, by a stunning Cristiano Ronaldo hat-trick.

But the thousands of Iranian supporters that filled the stadium with the sound of vuvuzelas throughout were left disappointed when it was ruled out for offside.

But after half-time Spain did a better job of keeping the width, and the goal, scored on 55 minutes when Ramin Rezaeian poked the ball against Diego Costa, had been coming.

Iran failed to attempt a single shot on target in this match - the first time that they have failed to do so in a World Cup game (14 games overall). Spain was lucky not to concede toward the end as Mehdi Taremi connected with a cross from Ansarifard, but his header from close range went over the crossbar.

After an exhilarating first six days, the seventh day of the World Cup will see some of the biggest players in action.

Costa's goal came in the 54th minute as a defender tried to kick the ball away.

Diego Costa scored a fine brace in the opener and is likely to start again against Iran.
