Eden Hazard: Belgium's 'golden generation' is desperate to deliver

The Egyptian worldwide left the field in tears last month after tangling with Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos in the first half of Liverpool's 3-1 defeat.

A huge factor in Liverpool's path to Kiev, Salah had to be withdrawn half an hour into the game with Real Madrid after injuring his shoulder in a tangle with Sergio Ramos.

Ramos arrogantly told media: "Bloody hell, they've given this a lot of attention, the Salah thing..."

'I didn't want to speak because everything is magnified.

'I will never give up on our dream.

"After the goalkeeper said that I dazed him with a clash with me I am only missing (Roberto) Firmino saying that he got a cold because a drop of my sweat!"

"Now I'm better. I hope to play the first game against Uruguay, but that will depend on how I feel when it approaches".

Ramos said days ago: "I see the play well, he grabs me first by the arm and I fall to the other side, in fact he injures the other arm".

"It's amusing. My comment is that it's always okay when the one who made you cry first, then makes you laugh", he said.

With Egypt having qualified for only their third ever World Cup, Salah's thoughts turned to his race against time to recover.

In an interview, Ramos had said that he was being unfairly painted as a pantomime villain.

I can't say one, but I like Costa a lot, when I played with him it was unbelievable.

The Pharaohs will be making their first World Cup appearance in 28 years when they face Uruguay in their group stage opener on June 15.

The Egyptian football federation said after his injury that he could be out for three weeks, meaning he would miss their opening Group A match but could then subsequently be available against Russia and Saudi Arabia.

Belgium's captain and talisman, Eden Hazard, has likened Roberto Martínez's squad to England's famed "golden generation" of players but believes his team-mates can deliver in Russian Federation when the World Cup begins next week.

'We had not achieved it for a long time and it was something very special.
