IHOP reveals what the 'b' stands for in IHOb

"Right now, there is not a defined time for how long we'll use the IHOb name", spokeswoman Stephanie Peterson said in an email, calling it a "tongue-in-cheek" name change.

After IHOP revealed the meaning behind its name change to IHOb on Monday, Wendy's went after the former pancake house on Twitter.

If you guessed that the "b" stood for burgers, you would have been correct.

The company said the secret would be revealed this morning.and it's official.

For those of you who don't like change, not to worry.

IHOP has officially switched the "p" for a "b", and has likewise traded pancakes, the breakfast food that they are renowned for, for a much different and very unexpected menu item: burgers.

IHOP's website now features the IHOb logo - but the site's URL remains the same, and its business descriptions and statements continue to list breakfast as a main priority.

On Monday (June 11), the restaurant chain finally shared their motives.

This letter swap is a promotion to show off the 60-year-old chain's new line of burgers and to emphasize the lunch and dinner options available at the iconic breakfast spot.

IHOP has changed its name to IHOb. The temporary shift is turning out to be an effective publicity stunt aimed at advertising the restaurant's new burger menu.

The wait is nearly over! - today, we find out what the mysterious "B" is all about in Ihop's name change.

The new IHOb Twitter account includes a cover image of the word "Burgers!" hovering above a handful of different burgers, including ones with bacon, hash browns, jalapeños and eggs.
