Sridevi's daughters Janhvi, Khushi get teary-eyed at 'Dhadak' trailer launch

The movie has been directed by Shashank Khaitan, who has given us hits like Badrinath Ki Dulhania and Humpty Sharma and bankrolled by Karan Johar.

The film, whose trailer is expected to drop today, is the Hindi adaptation of the Marathi blockbuster Sairat and features Janhvi, alongside Ishaan Khatter. "I saw 'Sairat' with mom at home and I remember telling her "I wish that this was my first film and I could do something like it".

A lot has been speculated about the big Bollywood debut of late veteran actor Sridevi's daughter Jahnvi Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor's brother Ishaan Khatter. "Firstly, sorry I'm not there in Mumbai but I'm by your side, don't worry", Arjun posted on his Instagram handle on Sunday.

She also shared an emotional moment with sister Khushi Kapoor who broke down and hugged her on the stage.

In Vogue's June edition, Janhvi spoke about how her mother, Sridevi reacted after watching 25 minutes of her debut film, Dhadak. "It's not going to be easy but I know you are ready for all the madness that will ensue", the Mubarakaan actor wrote. I think, even for Papa, it's a source of comfort. All the best for #dhadak! The second half has to be different, she told me... Replying to Arjun, Janhvi commented, "I will make you proud".

It was the first time that media-shy Janhvi interacted with the reporters and gave insights about her debut film.

While the original film was set in the backdrop of Maharashtra, Dhadak is set in the backdrop of Rajasthan.
