George Clooney Injured in Motorcycle Accident in Italy

George Clooney has been injured after a motorcyle he was riding collided with a pickup truck in Sardinia, Italian media reports.

CNN reported on Tuesday morning that the Hollywood superstar was driving his bike on the Italian island when he ran head-on into a truck that turned into him.

New reports suggest George was "propelled over the auto he hit", according to TMZ.

Clooney, 57, had just left his hotel on a motor scooter when he crashed into a small truck, Italy's Chi magazine said on its Web site. Police said they have no information, and the hospital didn't respond to requests for comment.

Clooney, who has a home in Italy, reportedly was in Sardinia filming a television miniseries adapted from Joseph Heller's World War II novel "Catch-22", according to ABC News. Though the father of two wasn't seriously hurt, that didn't stop fans from worrying, with one turning to Twitter to say: "I saw George Clooney trending and nearly had a heart attack", while another declared: "George Clooney should not be tampered with 2018!" According to the Cut, he did suffer from "a slight trauma to the pelvis and bruises to one leg and an arm".

An NBC News reporter tweeted that Clooney has already been discharged by the hospital. The vehicle signaled left.

George and Amal were seen arrive in the island on a private jet at the end of June with their twins Alexander and Ella. Clooney was reported treated at Palisades Medical Center in North Bergen, at the time of the incident.
