Gérard Depardieu's Lawyer Denies The Shocking Rape Allegations Against Him!

French actor Gerard Depardieu is being investigated over accusations of rape and sexual assault by a Paris prosecutor, according to a judicial source.

The source said the Paris public prosecutor's office had opened a preliminary inquiry into allegations against Depardieu following a complaint lodged on Monday. He "absolutely denies any attack, any rape", his lawyer, Herve Termime, said.

Argento has denied claims she slept with a 17-year-old co-star in a California hotel room in 2013.

The unnamed actress is accusing Depardieu of having assaulted and raped her at his Paris home on two occasions, on August 6 and August 13. "The case was passed on to the Paris prosecutor".

"I have strong elements to show that no offense took place", Temime said, adding that the offense was "the opposite" of Depardieu's personality.

One of France's most prolific actors, Depardieu has taken part in about 170 movies in his career and gained worldwide recognition in 1990 after starring in English language comedy "Green Card". Starring in over 180 films, the 69-year-old actor is best known for playing the titular character in the 1990 version of Cyrano de Bergerac, for which he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor, and his role of Porthos in The Man In The Iron Mask.

Depardieu was "shaken" by the "groundless" accusations, Temime said. The actress had also reportedly been receiving professional advice from Depardieu. He has agreed to cooperate with the investigation, according to his lawyer. Not only that, but Russian President Vladimir Putin invited him to dinner where he personally presented the actor with his Russian citizenship.
