Kelvin Benjamin complimented Panthers WR after preseason game

Kelvin Benjamin complimented Panthers WR after preseason game

When asked post-game what their whole interaction was about, Benjamin said that he "wasn't even trying to listen" to what Newton was saying, per Mike Rodak of ESPN.

Carolina at Buffalo is one of 12 games on the preseason schedule this Thursday night. However, Benjamin was not interested in listening to what Newton had to say.

Benjamin had plenty to say in an interview that came out last Saturday, calling his tenure in Carolina a "bad fit from the get-go" and speculating he might have been more successful had he played with "any other quarterback".

Newton attempted to shake Benjamin's hand, but the Bills wide receiver kept his hands at his side. "Just moving on from it". Benjamin saved his best compliment for young Damiere Byrd, though. However, the players will finally get a chance for live action as they face the Buffalo Bills in the first preseason game. During pregame warmups, Newton appeared to attempt to make peace with Benjamin, who clearly had no interest in chopping it up with Newton before the Carolina quarterback shrugged off his former WR and gave up on the exchange.

Benjamin was traded last season to Buffalo after his production declined in the aftermath of an ACL injury. Well, Benjamin hasn't been a legitimate star in years, and Newton has one great season to his name with a bunch of other decent ones attached to his resume.
