Pogba holds back on unrest at Manchester United

The Frenchman, who won the World Cup over the summer, was reportedly disappointed with Jose Mourinho's comments over his performances in Russian Federation, prompting further speculation of a move away from Old Trafford.

Pogba has become the teacher in this United midfield, with summer signing Fred and academy product Andreas Pereira looking up to the Frenchman and learning from him.

Reports coming out of England suggest that Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is already working on ways to bolster his squad in January, and could bring in three players, among them a former Old Trafford superstar.

It's also claimed that Pogba's agent Mino Raiola is keen to get the France global out of Old Trafford.

Asked about the conversation with Sanchez by Sky Sports , Pogba explained: "We don't really have one [a designated penalty taker]".

Although Mourinho made Pogba captain as Manchester United kicked off their English Premier League (EPL) campaign with a 2-1 win over Leicester City on Friday, Pogba's post-game comments also hinted that he would be keen to leave Old Trafford.

Asked about Pogba after Barcelona's 2-1 Super Cup win against Sevilla, President Josep Maria Bartomeu said: "I won't speak of any names, we have respect for all clubs and there are 20 days left".

"When I was here before, Rio (Ferdinand) was captain".

After a long summer featuring plenty of tension with the media, and far fewer signings than initially hoped for, Jose Mourinho must have been relieved when the first whistle of the Premier League was finally blown on Friday night. No, I just have to be myself and do what I know, do what I can do and do what I know to do.

Jamie Jackson's story in the Guardian claims that the United board are now ready to restructure behind the scenes, and want to appoint a figure that can give the club continuity in the facing of ever-shortening managerial reigns.

"You see the way they play - United fans aren't getting value for money. For me, it was a dream come true". "And wearing this, it's even more because of the past, because of the players that played here, the people that have been wearing this".
