Andrew McCutchen reveals new clean-shaven look following trade to Yankees

While there are not a lot of options on the waiver wire now, the Yankees reportedly have their eyes set on San Francisco Giants outfielder Andrew McCutchen, according to Joel Sherman of The New York Post.

While his production isn't quite at the level it was with the Pittsburgh Pirates several seasons ago, McCutchen is only five homers away from reaching the 20-home run plateau for the eighth straight season. The hit was the fifth of the game for McCutchen.

The Yankees will send two prospects to the Giants, including minor-league shortstop Abiatal Avelino, according to New York Post columnist Joel Sherman.

If the deal goes through before the end of Friday, McCutchen will be eligible for the Yankees' postseason roster.

McCutchen is batting.255 with 15 home runs and 55 home runs for the Giants this season. That means he has roughly $2 million left on his deal this season. In 10 appearances this season (nine starts) he owns a 1.71 ERA and 1.29 WHIP while averaging 8.7 strikeouts and 4.9 walks per nine innings pitched. The team expected him to miss just three weeks, and it did not make a move for an outfielder ahead of the July 31 nonwaiver trade deadline, but while Judge has been playing catch, he's reportedly not ready to swing a bat. They did that Thursday night.

In New York, McCutchen will be reunited with longtime Pittsburgh teammate Neil Walker, where both will have a chance to win a first World Series championship. However, he's still battling with the injury, prompting NY to make a move.
