Brie Larson unleashes her power as ‘Captain Marvel’ in new trailer

The arrival of Brie Larson's Carol Danvers to Earth through the roof of a Blockbuster Video store isn't a callback to Bruce Banner's similar return in Avengers: Infinity War, or simply a fun bit of nostalgia that takes full advantage of Captain Marvel's 1990s setting.

Disney has released the first trailer for Marvel Studios' Captain Marvel.

Captain Marvel stars Academy Award® victor Brie Larson (Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou (Korath), Lee Pace (Ronan), Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan (Minn-Erva), Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, McKenna Grace, Kenneth Mitchell (Joseph Danvers), with Clark Gregg (Phil Coulson), and Jude Law (Marv-Vell).

And it looks like the film will develop the relationship between Fury and Captain Marvel further.

As much as I want a story that fully explains who Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers is, and why she's so damn cool, this film may give us even more.

As one of the most powerful superheroes on Marvel Comics' roster, Larson's Captain Marvel is being positioned for a crucial role in Avengers cinematic history.

Marvel Studios unleashed the first trailer for the highly anticipated superhero flick, and it's everything we've hoped it would be. It's Nick Fury, of course. Appearing alongside her will be Jude Law, who is rumored to be playing another hero: Mar-Vell, aka the original Captain Marvel. That means when confronted they can pull out jagged teeth, insane tentacles, and more, and Chewie's done all of that and more to defend Captain Marvel.

The other major star of this trailer, though, is a fitter, younger Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), though he's already acting like he's too old for this ... stuff. Every time a new Marvel movie comes out, my dad and I go and watch it, ' Grace told Collider.
