Elizabeth Warren hits back at Donald Trump by releasing DNA test

Elizabeth Warren's (D-Mass.) claim that she has Native American ancestry and demanding that she prove it, President Donald Trump feigned ignorance on Monday when confronted with the fact that the senator had taken a DNA test confirming that she has an ancestor who was Native American.

That's what some were wondering on Twitter after the Democratic Senator from MA released the findings of a DNA test that she says is "strong evidence" of Native American heritage going as far back as 10 generations, according to The Boston Globe.

Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren took the rare step Monday of releasing her DNA test results examining her possible Native American ancestry, tries to eliminate critics' line of attack against her. On Monday she released results of a DNA test that provide what an analyst says is "strong evidence" she has a Native American in her family tree.

Standing on a soggy White House lawn Monday, Trump denied he had ever made the promise.

Trump seized on Warren's heritage claims during 2016 presidential labelled, when he labelled her "Pocahontas", a racial slur. "You better read it again", he said.

"My background played no role in my hiring", she says in the video, which includes clips from several bosses and co-workers saying she was hired on her merits. "Who cares?" His remarks came before he and First Lady Melania Trump headed to Florida and Georgia to visit with the victims of Hurricane Michael.

FLASHBACK: President Trump on Elizabeth Warren, 7/5/2018: "I will give you a million dollars to your favorite charity, paid for by Trump, if you take the test and it shows you're an Indian". The real estate mogul revived the claims of false ancestry, giving her the nickname "Pocahontas", alongside nicknames of his other opponents such as "Lyin' Ted Cruz" and "Crooked Hillary Clinton".

Hours later, when asked about the donation during an appearance in Georgia, Trump said he would "only do it if I can test her personally".

By taking the DNA test, Warren is showing how seriously she is considering a run for president. "I know that everybody likes to pick their junk science or sound science depending on the conclusion, it seems some days". "Please send the check to the National Indigenous Women's Resource Center". "It makes a mockery out of DNA tests and its legitimate uses while also dishonoring legitimate tribal governments and their citizens, whose ancestors are well documented and whose heritage is proven". "I think she's definitely running for president". "With that being said I don't want to say bad things about her because I hope she'd be one of the people that would get through the process".

Warren's effort to address questions about her ancestry and the release of the video are her latest moves telegraphing a likely presidential run in 2020.
