Thirty People Injured After Floor Collapses At Party

Videos shot at the scene showed a large party with people jumping around and dancing when the floor suddenly gave out from under them.

Police say none of the victims were trapped, and no one suffered life-threatening injuries.

It happened during a private party in the clubhouse at The Woodlands of Clemson around 12:30 a.m. Sunday, according to WSPA.

'It was a lot to take in'.

The call was concerning the collapse of a first story floor within the clubhouse, crashing to the second level of the building.

About 30 people were taken to local hospitals after the center of the floor caved in at the clubhouse near the SC university. "The beat was about to drop, and literally the whole floor collapsed", she said. I stood up, and everyone was trying to climb out. "Then I wake up, because I blacked out, and there [were] girls everywhere with blood all over their face", Leroy Pearson told CBS affiliate WSPA-TV. I can tell you there was a floor collapse.

He said thirty people were transported to three area hospitals. The Clubhouse and pool area is OFF LIMITS to all. From there, the homeowner's association will determine how to rebuild the clubhouse to make it safe for all residents.

Police said an investigation into the incident was ongoing.

"We're continuing to gather information, and are encouraged by the initial reports of no life-threatening injuries", Clemson University said in a statement to ABC.
