NBA Trade Grades: Jazz acquire Kyle Korver from Cavaliers

The talented perimeter shooter has played his part on all of his teams, but he has been traded yet again.

In three seasons with Cleveland, he averaged 9.3 points per game, mostly scoring his points from jumpers and three-point shots.

This is Korver's second stop in Utah, where he played from 2007 to '10.

ESPN first reported the sharpshooting Korver is on the move.

Burks, 27, is averaging 8.4 points in 15.8 minutes per game while shooting 37.2 percent from deep in 17 games for Utah this season. The team sent him over to the Philadelphia 76ers the same night.

Utah Jazz fans have been somewhat disgruntled to start out the season due to the team's lackluster play and the seeming failure of the plan to rely on continuity to spur the squad on to new heights.

The Cavaliers are sending Kyle Korver to Utah.

Before the trade, the Jazz had gone 9-12 overall, with one of their biggest problems a severe lack of 3-point shooting beyond forward Joe Ingles.

"Everyone was a little bit surprised", Allen said before the Jazz's road game against the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday.

Korver's contract has a $7.56 million cap hit this season, and $7.5 million for 2019-20.

"From what I know of his game, he's great moving without the ball so there's a lot I can watch of him and it'll be cool to see that up close", Allen said.

The Cavs also receive an asset in Burks' expiring contract worth $11.2 million, something they might be able to use in another deal. His salary for next season includes $3.44 million guaranteed, with the full amount becoming protected if he's not waived by July 7.
