Popeyes Offering Free Chicken If Derrick Lewis Beats Daniel Cormier

Popeyes Offering Free Chicken If Derrick Lewis Beats Daniel Cormier

Derrick Lewis is fighting Daniel Cormier at MSG for the UFC heavyweight championship. but it wouldn't have been possible if he didn't spend over 3 years in prison.

After defeating Derrick Lewis via second-round submission in last night's UFC 230 main event, Daniel Cormier revealed that he had injured his back that same morning and was nearly forced to pullout of the contest.

Lewis had a size and reach advantage, but Cormier set the tempo and took Lewis down at will before submitting him in the second round.

"There's no difference in what I weigh today as to what I weigh when I fight at 205lbs", Cormier said of a move back to the light-heavyweight division.

Cormier, who upset Stipe Miocic in July to win the heavyweight title, will get one more chance to show what he can do before he winds up a legendary career.

"Brock Lesnar, when you come then bring that brand new WWE title because I feel like being a WWE champion too", Cormier said in his post-fight interview. Oh boy, look at that! "It's history and Daniel Cormier is one of the best of all-time".

"It's history, baby", Cormier shouted following the win.

Despite conceding height, reach, weight and power advantages to the challenger, two-time Olympic wrestler Cormier dominated the contest.

He called out former UFC heavyweight champion and current WWE star Brock Lesnar for a match in 2019.

"Really, in the third round we thought we'd have the upper hand to really finish the fight in the third".

Last night, Lewis and his team took to social media to reveal that should "The Black Beast" win on Saturday, anyone in and around Cypress, Texas can head down to the local Popeyes to get some free chicken between 2-4 on Sunday.

Lewis propelled himself to the title bout with a thunderous victory over Alexander Volkov at UFC 229. Derrick Lewis is one punch away from winning any fight.

"I think a lot of people have to understand that I've been doing this for nine years and I've fought at a championship level for eight of them", he said. You have to be one of the best in the world to be able to compete. "We're the two greatest fighters of all time and we fight each other".
