Obsidian Debuts ‘The Outer Worlds’ Sci-Fi RPG via Trailer

Fallout: New Vegas' Obsidian Entertainment debuted their brand new RPG during The Game Awards 2018 and fans instantly fell in love with what The Outer Worlds had to offer. The ship flew in the Al, the most distant colony of Earth at the edge of the galaxy, but lost on the way. Your character awakens from hibernation, from there, you'll explore the colony, get to know the settlers, resolve conflicts and try to overcome the various threats coming your way. Players objective in The Outer Worlds is going to be getting their world back from the corporations.

Overall, it looks like a ton of fun, and we'd be lying if we said we aren't interested in checking it out. What do you think of the game?

You can be flawed, in a good way: New to The Outer Worlds is the idea of flaws. Not only is it an RPG, which is Obsidian Entertainment's specialty, but it's also a sci-fi shooter, combining the premises of two of the studio's most well-known titles: The Sith Lords and Fallout: New Vegas. Developed by Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky (co-creators of the original Fallout), it's basically "Fallout, but in space". No release date has been set yet. The Outer Worlds is scheduled for release sometime in 2019 on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Since the minds behind Fallout's best entries are at the helm of The Outer Worlds, gamers can expect plenty of memorable companions who will aid in combat and provide additional missions. Throughout the game, as players fight different monsters and make their way through various non-combat encounters, they can choose to take "Flaws", which hinder their character in some way while providing an extra perk point immediately.
