Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Invites Sir Alex Ferguson To Man United Training

"It is different, we still won games with the old manager but it is just a different style of playing, we are more offensive and we are creating more chances and that is how we want to play".

"We are Manchester United and we need to be at the top of the league".

He added: "As I've said to all the players when I speak to them, we want to see the best out of them, we want to see them enjoy themselves and express themselves, within the framework, within how we want the team to play".

Anthony Martial is one of four changes made by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to the side that beat Huddersfield Town on Boxing Day as Manchester United prepare to host Bournemouth.

"I'm really pleased that he'll get goals".

United have scored 12 goals in those three matches, with Paul Pogba directly involved in seven of those goals, while Herrera himself has grabbed two assists and a goal in those games.

Solskjaer has spoken of his desire to see Pogba break into the box more regularly and he had the simplest of tasks to prod the ball into an empty net after Marcus Rashford had bewildered the Bournemouth defence.

"I know the club want them to sign, of course, because they are top-quality players", said Solskjaer.

Pogba has been the star man under Solskjaer and he should always start.

The one downside against Bournemouth was a late red card for Eric Bailly after a reckless challenge on Ryan Fraser, meaning he will miss games against Newcastle, Reading in the FA Cup and the trip to Tottenham. But in the last two, eight goals have been scored by the club and by six different players. Pogba opened the scoring after just five minutes before doubling the lead just past the half-hour mark.

Pogba certainly deserves praise for his performance, but Rashford was the best player on the pitch.

"It's quite a few years since I was here, but this is how it was", he said.

Only the post then denied Pogba a first ever hat-trick when his low strike from the edge of the box came off the woodwork.

Manchester United now head into the new year in sixth place in the Premier League table and three points behind fifth-placed Arsenal. Solskjaer has completely reinvigorated the World Cup victor, as he was back to his best against Bournemouth.

Bournemouth had a penalty appeal waved away in the 70th minute Bailly put his foot up near the face of Charlie Daniels, and United sealed the game minutes later.
